The Wellesley is a magnificently restored heritage building, designed by William Gray Young in 1927. It is regarded as Wellington's finest example of neo-Georgian architecture.

ACCOMMODATION

Superbly appointed luxury suites have been meticulously themed in the English Georgian period style with use of the finest natural materials. Each room is of particularly generous proportions reflecting the grandeur of the building. Large ensuites have dual basins, a claw foot bath and separate shower.

CUISINE

Definitely a place to be seen, the setting could so easily be a dining room in London's district of St James. Impeccable table service offers a menu with an English theme lavished with an eclectic selection of modern cuisine.

Seating up to 80 people, open early 7 days for breakfast through to dinner. The feature open fire (the only one remaining in Wellington's CBD) makes this the cosiest spot to be in a Wellington winter.

The magnificent grand dining room on the 1st floor seats up to 130 people and is used for private functions, cocktail parties and concerts.

Light meals and refreshments are also served in the private lounges. An ideal venue for intimate conversation and relaxation.

RECREATIONAL FACILITIES

The Wellesley's future is dedicated to sophisticated and modern health programmes.

Gymnasium - a large (120m2) gymnasium with full time professional manager and an extensive range of state-of-the art equipment for circuit training and free weights as well as TV monitors. Membership is restricted to avoid overcrowding and queuing.
