We are situated on the banks of the Waitaki River, 70km inland from Oamaru southwest of Christchurch (a drive of about 3 hours) or 220km from Queenstown (a scenic drive of 2-2½ hours via Cromwell or Wanaka). The Waitaki River is renowned for its excellent trout and salmon fishing from late November through April. An outdoor paradise, Kurow is just 30 minutes away from outstanding duck and geese hunting once the fishing season ends in May. The ideal location of the Holiday Park adjacent to the river permits safe swimming and canoeing, with three lakes within a few minutes drive for the complete range of boating activities. Many guests at our Holiday Park come from overseas and enjoy the unique outdoor experience here so much that they extend their stay for 2-3 weeks -- and anxiously await their return to Kurow the next year.
