Trout fishing on the South Islands West Coast is a must for any keen
fisherman. This is the home of the cunning brown trout and Lake Brunner is
right in the middle of it. The area is surrounded by magnificent scenery and
if you base yourself at Moana on the shores of Lake Brunner, you have the
choice of spring creeks, streams, rivers or lakes all within close distance
to your accommodation.
It is hard to beat the thrill of stalking a fish, casting to it in crystal clear water, and then landing your catch after a tense battle.
I can also organise overnight stays at remote river valleys with good accommodation and excellent fishing water, uncrowded and surrounded by fantastic scenery. You can hire a boat from me, or if you like, I can drop you off around the lake and pick you up at an arranged time.
We also run a scenic tour operation on the lake, which takes in all of Lake Brunner and is a great trip for your wife and family to take while you are out after "the big one." The trip takes approx. 1 hr 20 min and departs at 10.30am or 12.45pm daily in the season or on request any time of the year. This is a great way to fill in time if you have caught the TranzAlpine train to/from Christchurch and the West Coast. You have approximately 2 hrs 45 mins to spend in Moana. I also carry a range of fishing tackle suitable for the area and sell licenses. I can recommend you to stay at the Moana Hotel. They look after you and have some fine wine and good award-winning local ales. For further information, please e-mail or phone me, and I will be happy to help you with your enquiry.
P.S. Don't forget we cater for all levels and offer tuition. |
